The celebrated British wine writer, Jancis Robinson MW has taken a close interest in the wines of the Languedoc ever since she bought a house there nearly 40 years ago. Today, she says, “there has been a massive relandscaping of the region”, with the total area under vine shrinking to about half its size at that time, and the focus on ‘better less fertile sites [….] typically run as small family concerns”.
“White wines are becoming seriously interesting” she said, while “reds have been freshening up a bit”.
