Jancis Robinson MW tasted through our 2015 wines and published her tasting notes today on www.jancisrobinson.com in an article entitled “Languedoc: France’s Treasure Chest”, a region which has been ‘transformed’ in the time she has known it.
“The better quality terrain, particularly the evocative hills, are now home to a host of hardworking, well-trained or at least well-advised wine producers and thoroughly driven wine lovers.” she said. “There is some really great quality here … selling at prices much lower than would be charged in regions with more of a reputation”.
“Traditional grape varieties chock full of flavour” caught her attention in particular, perhaps explaining the outstanding “Bravo!” she accorded our mauzac, Occitania. Another favourite in our rage was clearly the Blanquette de Limoux, also made from mauzac, which she described as “a really interesting sparkling wine”. Trilogie, “complex and arresting”, was given a resounding “Gorgeous”. And for the chenin blanc, Dédicace: “Well done!”
Mrs Robinson also chose our mauzac, Occitania, as her Wine of the Week this month. That article can be read here.
