The Rives-Blanques chardonnay, Odyssée, and the chenin blanc, Dédicace both were included in the white appellation wines selected by Perswijn, the leading Dutch wine magazine. “Pure” was the adjective they ascribed to both wines.
“The Languedoc has a special place in our hearts, ” they wrote, “perhaps because we are there so often. Or perhaps because we can’t go right now.”
“Limoux and the Cabardès are right on the most western side, open to Atlantic influences”, they explain. “They are the exceptions to the rule, because the rest of the region is strongly Mediterranean, both in grape varieties and in influences. White wines from Limoux and Picpoul de Pinet are the only ones that allow single-varieties in their appellation rules”.
