The wines were judged region by region, and appellation by appellation throughout France, by the Revue du Vin de France’s top tasters; it was the first time that this tasting was done blind, and the experts had no idea who the producers were. 1800 bottle were selected, including our two Limoux whites: Odyssée 2018 and Dédicace 2018.
Because of the conditions of the year, we were unable to make the mauzac, Occitania. Our top barrel-selection blend La Trilogie, also was a victim of the vagaries of the year.
Limoux distinguished itself for the quality of its white wines, the tasters said, despite 2018 being such a “black year”. The appellation overall “ranked highly”.
“Sapid and long” was the verdict on on our trademark chardonnay, while the chenin blanc was round, with notes of cereal and yellow fruit.
