Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate’s Languedoc expert, tasted over 600 wines for this comprehensive report on the wines of Languedoc and Roussillon. He identified Rives-Blanques, “a first-rate estate”, as one of the primary producers of Limoux.
The “Vinpressionist” Hubrecht Duijker, a critic of considerable international standing, and doyen of Dutch winewriters, included our “extremely attractive” everyday-drinking wine in his Discoveries of the Month this month. The chardonnay-chenin blanc Pays d’Oc, with its “notes of yellow and white fruit and a nutty touch” balances “seductively friendly acidity with succulence”, he says.
“This chardonnay enchanted the jury, who praised the intensity of its nose (….) and its even more expressive palate” says the famous Guide Hachette’s new Guide to the best wines under €15.00. The Rives-Blanques Limoux chardonnay, Odyssée, was the only Languedoc white wine to receive two stars and a coup de coeur in the Guide’s €11.00-15.00 category.
