Harold Hamersma, an inluential Dutch wine-writer, tasted a number of wines from the Rives-Blanques range or his guide, “de Grote Hamersma”. Leading the way was our “star wine”, the sparkling Blanquette de Limoux, “a classy wine, more so than many Champagnes” he said. Hot on its heels came the non-sparkling Mauzac, Occitania, also with 9- points, “a noble wine, full of character”. Our flagship Chardonnay, Odyssée, was praised for standing out in a crowd of chardonnays as a genuinely terroir-driven wine, while our blend, Le Limoux, was characterful, original, and a good Ambassador of the Appellation. Our entry level Pays d’Oc, came in for some high praise and high points, “in terms o price their simplest wine, and in terms of quality, a great pleasure” while the Chenin IGP, Aude à la Joie, “whose stateliness presides over layer upon layer of flavour” completed his tasting.
