Ireland’s leading newspaper published a thoughtful and in-depth account of Limoux’s wines in its weekend magazine. Its wine writer, John Wilson, says Limoux is ‘worlds apart’ from the rest of the Languedoc.
“Higher, cooler and greener, Limoux produces wines that are lighter and fresher.”
He cited a ‘small group of outsiders’ as providing the real interest of these wines: his “Bottles of the Week” were a trio made up by the Burgundians of Domaine Antugnac, our English neighbours, and Château Rives-Blanques .
Odyssée is a “great wine” he said. It is “fragrant with delicious textured peach fruits held together by cleansing citrus acidity”.
