The Languedoc has undergone an ‘impressive quality revolution’ over the past twenty years, says one of the France’s leading wine guides. In the brand new 2015 edition of the Guide to the Best Wines of France, they say this is due to a “band of passionate winegrowers” convinced of the region’s potential for producing truly great wines. “Limoux white wines” they added, “can be remarkable when the grapes are grown at altitude”.
Of the Chateau Rives-Blanques wines, they particularly appreciated our Blanquette de Limoux (“frank and flavoursome”), the chenin Dédicace (“particularly forthcoming fruit”), the mauzac Occitania (“which expresses itself with subtlety”) and the chardonnay, Odyssée (“between Golden Delicious and liquorice”). Our top wine La Trilogie is a “delicious cuvee with good acidity” , while our late harvest, Lagremas d’Aur 2012 is a “hugely successful exercise in this style of wine”.
