Tamlyn Currin, Jancis Robinson’s main coordinator/taster for her Languedoc selection, gave us a farewell fanfare with a most generous and touching goodbye, and a handful of poetic, intuitive and yet thoroughly analytical tasting notes, reminding us yet again how valuable is the insight and support of wine critics, writers and tasters to the consumer and the producer alike – and how much we all, and we personally, have benefitted from their translation of our wines.
“There is a subtle, crystalline purity that is rounded and held in a breath-taking pause […]. It has the confidence and clear-cut clarity of youth, hiding a matrix of complexity, that will segue into honeyed, mineral-tense, multi-dimensional nuances …” she said of our Odyssée 2021
Of la Trilogie she wrote: “There is a pool of stillness at its centre, encircled by eddy-lines of finely laminated silvery acidity […] a wine of compelling beauty.”
The “honeyed-hand charm” of Occitania makes it the “Panman’s wilful, wild-child faerie spirit wine” while the ‘thrumming purpose of Dédicace is to be rich”, she concluded.
